The Admissions Process
Financial Aid
Forms Online

Anyone may apply for financial aid by picking up a Parent's Financial Statement (PFS), which is the official application provided by School and Student Service for Financial Aid (SSS), at the school's front desk. The PFS must be completed and mailed to SSS in Princeton, NJ by March 16th. In addition, we require that a copy of the signed previous year IRS 1040 tax form and all supporting schedules, plus W-2's if applicable, partnership/sole proprietorship and or corporate returns, be sent to Bridgeview Montessori School, P.O. Box 270, Sagamore, MA. 02561 by March 16th. All information related to the parents' financial circumstances will be treated confidentially. These forms will only be used to arrive at a fair determination of financial need.

Financial aid files are reviewed and awards made only after a student is admitted to or re-enrolled in the Bridgeview Montessori School for the school year commencing the following September. Financial aid applications must be submitted by the March 16th deadline in order for an award to be considered. If the scholarship awarded still does not make it possible for the student(s) to attend, parents may request that the $500 enrollment deposit be refunded.

Can I apply online?

Yes. Please visit http://sss.nais.org.  You can also download additional copies of the forms to work on. Note our school code: 3254.

How is financial need determined?

Financial need is defined as the difference between what it costs to attend the Bridgeview Montessori School and a family's ability to pay. The Report of Family Contribution is sent by SSS to Bridgeview Montessori School, and it provides us with a general assessment of a family's ability to pay for education.

What happens if the parents are divorced or separated?

Bridgeview Montessori School believes that parents have an obligation to pay for the education expenses of their children to the extent that they are able, which takes precedence over Bridgeview Montessori School's responsibility to provide financial assistance. The Financial Aid Committee will consider the assets of both of the child's natural (and adoptive, when applicable) parents, if living, before making any award. This will hold true even if the assertion that one parent has disclaimed legally or otherwise any responsibility for the educational expenses. If either parent has remarried, the committee will also consider the income and assets of the stepparent, always bearing in mind the obligation of the stepparent to his or her own natural children.

In view of this policy, it is necessary that both natural parents and their current spouses, if any, fill out a separate PFS Form.   It is the responsibility of the custodial parent to ask the non-custodial parent to fill out this form.   If this information is not provided, the Financial Aid Committee will not grant an award to the student.

Is financial aid automatically renewed each year?

Bridgeview Montessori School requires that families receiving financial aid reapply each year. Changes in such things as income, family status and the number of children attending private institutions may result in increases or decreases in an award. Every application is reviewed annually.

When will I be notified of my award?

Families will receive notification of an award by May 1.
